Hi, I’m Jacelyn, the founder of SupportiveSteps.
I’m a Registered Psychologist in Alberta, Canada, with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and over a decade of experience supporting families, children, and educators. My background includes working extensively in school systems, where I specialized in psychoeducational assessments, learning and behavioral needs, and collaborative planning with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to a neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach that empowers both children and the adults who support them. Whether navigating complex IEPs or helping families understand a diagnosis, I’ve always believed that clarity, compassion, and connection are at the heart of progress.
Now based in Georgia, I’ve expanded my work to offer both educational advocacy services and, more recently, Parent Coaching & Emotional Wellness support.
Whether you're looking for help with school systems or support for the emotional side of parenting — I'm here to walk alongside you with informed, compassionate guidance.
I can not wait to meet you!
Testimonials
"Jacelyn is compassionate about and understands how important it is to connect with each of the individuals she supports and works with. She takes her experience in assessments, as a registered psychologist [in Alberta, Canada], and walks her clients through the reports … helping them understand the diagnoses, supporting them as they discern and navigate next steps and journeying with them as they advocate for their child’s learning needs with the school….walking with them through the challenges and celebrations."
-Eleanor Heesing, Famiyl Wellness Worker at Elk Island Catholic Schools-
"Jacelyn has been a lifesaver as I navigate not only the very complicated world of filling out the Katie Beckett Waiver, but also in helping to empower me to advocate for my child’s needs while helping me prepare for an IEP meeting. She has provided me with ongoing advocacy support as I communicate with my child’s teacher and school to discuss my current questions and concerns with virtual and in person sessions. In one of our in person sessions she sat with me to review, analysis and assist me in revising my child’s IEP. Everyone should have someone that is as knowledgeable, reliable and understanding of their individual needs as Jacelyn is! I am so grateful to have found her!"
